“Gorilla Warfare” (a.k.a “The Apes of Wrath” ) - Sonic the Hedgehog #17
So Robotnik rediscovers the first robot he ever built, “Gong” a ripoff of King Kong. Said giant robot ape falls in love with Sally and we get a climax straight from the original film.
From the cover you might think that Tails is back to flying the biplane again. Well you’d be mistaken. It’s really Antoine!
This is the first time we’ve seen him fly a plane instead of an air balloon. Further cementing him as the group's pilot. What’s more is, he saves Sonic’s life once again.
Also, I think cover is just more evidence of my theory that Ant taught Tails how to pilot a plane.
The rest of the comic features the first part of the comic's first multi-part story;“Princess Sally’s Crusade”.
